MOndays
Anger Management [6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Sanctuary main facility] $20 fee/class:
This group instructs adults on the effects of anger and how to handle it appropriately in their lives. Various skills are taught to help control anger issues at home and in their workplace. Topics include dealing with rage and hostility towards other people, control techniques to manage anger effectively and coping mechanisms. This class is taught by a Certified Anger Management Facilitator (CAMF).
Tuesdays
Anger Management [6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Astumbo Senior Citizen Center] $20 fee/class:
This group instructs adults on the effects of anger and how to handle it appropriately in their lives. Various skills are taught to help control anger issues at home and in their workplace. Topics include dealing with rage and hostility towards other people, control techniques to manage anger effectively and coping mechanisms. This class is taught by a Certified Anger Management Facilitator (CAMF).
Wednesdays
Parent Support Group/Parenting Skills (Inetnon Para I Manaina) [6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Sanctuary main facility]:
The 10 week cycle group instructs parents on skills such as communication, conflict resolution, appropriate discipline, reflective listening, problem solving, listening skills, parenting styles and setting limits. It also focuses on the issues of parenting and provides an opportunity for parents/guardians to discuss the trials, tribulations and frustrations they face for caring for their children. The group allows participants to receive, as well as give support to each other concerning their respective situations. Often times, parents raise their children the best way they know how without any formal/informal education on how to do so. This group instructs parents on skills needed in becoming effective parents in today's challenging society, encourages interaction and promotes empowerment.
