Mission Statement

Helping Youth and Families Help Themselves

Company Profile

In 1971 Sanctuary was founded by Fr. Robert Phelps, OFM Cap. and Luis Martinez, as an alternative to the criminal justice system for young people and their families. These youth have committed any crimes; instead may be victims of abuse, are homeless or experiencing disharmony in the home.

Hundreds of teens take refuge in Sanctuary's emergency and Transitional Living Program shelters every year and over 2,000 are helped through our outreach and prevention programs.

We offer a multitude of support groups such has: youth and adult anger management, tobacco cessation, parenting skills, parent support group and conduct prevention and awareness presentations in our school.

In August 2004, we opened the region's only residential treatment center for youth with drug and alcohol dependency.
