Parenting Skills Group

Ages:     18 and over

Length:   1.5 hours/10-week cycle/every Thursday 6:00-7:30PM

Location: Conference Room 1 - Sanctuary, Incorporated

These classes instruct parents on skills such as communication, conflict resolution, appropriate discipline, reflective listening, problem solving, listening skills, parenting styles and setting limits.  Unlike Parent Support Group, which focuses on providing support to parents experiencing difficulty with their children; the classes provide the full spectrum to assist them in becoming better parents.  Often times, parents raise their children the best way they know how without any formal/informal education on how to do so.  This group instructs parents on skills needed in becoming effective parents in today's challenging society.
