Sagan Na'Homlo
Sanctuary's Sagan Na'Homlo program is a three to six month residential program for chemically dependent youth, ages 12 through 18. We continue to be the only residential treatment facility for youth in our region.
Clients live in a therapeutic community, progressing at their own pace and readiness through the five (5) phases of treatment: 1. Orientation 2. Awareness 3. Enhancement 4. Enlightenment 5. Empowerment Each phase requires more responsibility and empowers the youth to continue moving closer toward a sober and healthier lifestyle. Clients are able to earn privileges through our weekly points/level system such as: phone calls, outings, movie night, later bed-time and visitation. All clients receive both group and individual counseling in: substance abuse, decision making skills, goal setting, recovery planning, time management, anger management, life skills building, relapse prevention, feelings management and weekly family counseling. To date, we have had a total 14 clients participate in the program, with 7 graduation from both phase one (in-patient care) and phase two (aftercare). This program if funded through a grant from the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. |
