YOUTH OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION PROGRAM
Do you know youth who go above and beyond? If so, nominate your youth or yourself to become the Youth of the Year 2012!
Sanctuary is honoring youth who have excelled in the areas of leadership, character and community service between March 30, 2011 - February 17, 2012. Sanctuary has long recognized that the youth of Guam have made significant contributions and provided countless hours of volunteer efforts and community services to the betterment of our island. All youth between the ages of 5 and 24, enrolled and attending school full time, and a resident of Guam for at least 1 year are eligible. Nomination forms will be accepted from February 1, 2012 through March 2, 2012 only. The selection committee will review applications and select finalists in each category. Finalists will also be invited to participate in an interview with a panel of community members. Selected Youth of the Year Awardees will be given Sanctuary, Incorporated's Board of Director's Resolution, Resolution from the Guam Legislature, Certificate of Award, a Plaque, Monetary prize of $250.00, and will be identified as the face of Sanctuary, Incorporated for one (1) calendar year beginning May 2012 in print, radio and TV media outlets. A total of Five (5) youth will be awarded:
- One (1) Elementary: primary level (grades K2 to 2nd),
- One (1) Elementary: intermediate level (grades 3rd to 5th),
- One (1) Middle school level (grades 6th – 8th),
- One (1) High school level (grades 9th – 12th)
- One (1) Post-High school level (youth enrolled full time at the University of Guam, Guam Community College or any other institution of higher learning)
**Applicants/Nominees must provide transcripts for proof of attendance**
